Fences we'd put our name on, so we did. Three real backyards around the Wichita metro, grouped by the job they came from, in the words of the people who live in them.

These are jobs, not a mood board. Each of the three projects below is one property, photographed after the crew packed up, with the homeowner’s Google review under it.

Project 01 · Just Finished

Stained Cedar Privacy Fence in Derby, KS

This 264-foot stained cedar privacy fence in Derby, Kansas went up in 4 days, August 13 to 16, 2026, with the stain applied August 21. The ask was full privacy, no gaps to look through, and a brown darker than the cedar tone most yards end up with. Every gate got black hardware, hinges and latch, so the metal reads as a deliberate line against the wood. Walk out the back door now and the yard feels like a room.

Project 02

Cedar Privacy Fence in Andover, KS

This 202-foot cedar privacy fence in Andover, Kansas was built June 26 to 29, 2026 and stained July 15. These photos were shot the evening the crew finished, so every one of them shows the cedar still bare. The line is the point. It runs straight, it stays straight, and it turns the back of a new-build lot into an actual backyard.

Project 03

Cedar Privacy Fence with 3 Gates in West Wichita

284 linear feet·Built Jul 10-14, 2026·3 gates

This 284-foot cedar privacy fence with 3 gates in west Wichita was built July 10 to 14, 2026. Three gates was the number this yard needed, so that was the number that got built. All three are 4-foot gates, and their posts were set through concrete. Parts of the yard run shorter 4-foot sections instead of full-height privacy. The photos below are the sloped back run in the evening, and the Ovora plate going onto one of the gates.

The Three Cedar Board Styles

The three shots below are reference photos of board styles, not photos of any one job above. Every cedar fence Ovora builds is one of these three, and every one of them sits on a Halco PostMaster+ galvanized steel post concealed inside the cedar. Not a visible metal post, not an upgrade line on the quote. Just how a cedar fence leaves the yard.

Board-on-board cedar fence style detail — Board-on-board: pickets alternate front and back with an overlap, so there's no straight sightline through the fence from either yard, and both sides look equally finished.

Shadow box cedar fence style detail — Shadow box: boards alternate sides with a gap instead of an overlap, trading a little direct privacy for airflow and a lighter look. Common where wind load or a shared fence line with a neighbor is a factor.

Standard cedar privacy fence style detail — Standard: flush, side-by-side pickets on one face. The most straightforward privacy build, set on the same concealed steel post as every other cedar style Ovora offers.

Beyond Cedar

Also on the Lineup: Vinyl, Chain Link & Ornamental Iron

Cedar leads because it’s what most Wichita yards ask for, but it’s not the only fence Ovora installs. The four styles below are all set on galvanized steel. Eldridge Lakeland vinyl on a driven-pipe or concrete footing depending on the site, chain link, and ornamental iron are the rest of the lineup.
