Yes. We use Wood Defender stain, and it’s optional — cedar left alone weathers to a soft silver-grey, and plenty of people like it that way. If you want stain, it gets priced as its own line on your quote so you can see exactly what it costs and decide either way. We’ll go through the color options with you on site.

1-Year Workmanship Warranty. Every installation carries a one-year warranty on our own workmanship, and the materials we install carry their manufacturers' warranties — including a residential lifetime limited warranty on the PostMaster+ steel post inside every cedar fence.

Usually not. Wichita and Sedgwick County’s building code (UBTC Sec. 2.2.140) exempts fences up to 8 feet tall from a building permit, unless the fence encloses an outdoor seating area or forms a pool barrier. Kansas has a state fence law (K.S.A. 29-301 et seq.) that requires neighboring landowners to share the cost of a boundary fence — but it was written for agricultural land (splitting the cost of a fence between farms and pastures), not ordinary house-to-house lots in town. Inside city limits, it’s generally whoever wants the fence who builds it, on their own side of the line. Either way, get the property line professionally surveyed and flagged before anyone digs — we build to the line you show us, not to a guess, and a survey avoids a fence that has to move later.
